The enchanting Finnish summer offers the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of modern life. This upcoming season, travelers are invited to unwind by pristine lakes or conquer the Arctic giants. Adventure veteran Kilpissafarit has unveiled its highly anticipated guided trek to Finland’s highest point, Mount Halti.
KILPISJÄRVI – Preliminary insights into Lapland ’s upcoming 2026 autumn seasons showcase a country defined by lush forests, glistening lakes, and majestic landscapes. Hiking through the verdant greenery, accompanied by the calming chorus of birds, remains a top choice for travelers seeking to reconnect with nature. For many, the quintessential Finnish summer involves renting a lakeside cabin, kayaking, fishing, or simply lounging on the shoreline.
However, for those seeking a true wilderness challenge, the ultimate adventure awaits in the far north of Lapland. Kilpissafarit, a premier outdoor activity company based in Kilpisjärvi since 1995, has announced its signature summer tour: Conquering Halti (1,324 meters above sea level).
Conquering the Highest Peak of Finland
This full-day tour offers an extraordinary route to Finland’s roof. The journey begins in Kilpisjärvi with a scenic three-hour minibus ride to Lake Guolasjärvi in Norway. From there, participants embark on a demanding 7-kilometer hike to the highest peak located on the Finnish side. The terrain is rocky and strenuous, and due to the Arctic microclimate, snow flurries can occur even in the heart of summer.
